TMA's November Recap

While we are already in the midst of December, dealing with the onslaught of exams, we thought it’d be nice to outline some of the things TMA did during the last month. The month of November has certainly flown by this year, and with it were so many exciting events for TMA. Our team had the opportunity to host the Telfer Career Centre’s annual marketing trip to Toronto virtually this year, which featured speakers from companies such as Amazon, P&G, LinkedIn, Rogers and Salesforce. The Virtual Speaker Series was a successful at-home event as attendees were able to gain valuable insights on the marketing industry as well as the job market post-graduation. TMA would like to extend our gratitude to all of the sponsoring companies from the series, as well as thank Ashley Foster from the Career Centre for her continued support and dedication throughout this challenging semester.

Warrior Yoga & TMA

With midterms being a large part of the past month for many students at Telfer, we were thrilled to welcome Lauren Goostrey from Warrior Yoga to guide students through a virtual yoga session. It reminded us all to take time to prioritize our own health, both mental and physical, no matter how busy things get. We are also excited to share that more virtual marketing workshops are on their way as the year progresses. Updates and announcements can be found via our website as well as our social media platforms!

Pitch Your Brand - Virtual Edition

This fall, TMA had the opportunity to partner with Babcock Canada to host our first ever virtual version of the annual Pitch Your Brand case competition. The winning teams won cash prizes as well as private coffee chats with Babcock. A very special thank you to all participants for supporting this year’s version of the event, as well as our fantastic judges. Holly Moroney and Nicholas Avellaneda from Babcock truly went above and beyond to support our team and our members, allowing us to host this competition and explore large-scale virtual events for the first time.

Another exciting event coming up in early 2021 is Mad Marketing. The events team at TMA is currently working on offering the same quality of speed networking that Mad Marketing is known for, via a virtual platform this year. Students will have the opportunity to chat one-on-one with marketing professionals and build connections that will last a lifetime - it isn't one to miss! Registration for this event begins in early January.

New Hires!

Lastly, two first year representatives have joined our team this semester. We are so thrilled to welcome Alex and Bashira to our 2020-2021 TMA family! We can’t wait to see how these two brilliant individuals will continue to share their creative talents with the team in the winter semester.

Stay safe and healthy, and keep an eye out for more monthly TMA recaps!
